It was a bit toasty, but wow, the views.
Around 50 members of Boston Smaht gathered on the roof deck of BXP's 888 Boylston, one of Boston's most sustainable buildings. This gathering was just a social event to catch up and make some new connections. Later in the year, Boston Smaht will host a couple more programmed sessions to dig into a couple great topics. You can see those on our event page and will be getting dates as soon as possible.
Our goal for Boston Smaht is to make connections across people within Boston area that represent all facets of our built environment. Last night had a diverse group with owners, operators, architects, consultants and solution providers.
It's nice during these socials to have extra time to get to know each other. We often underestimate the value of building relationships with the people in our professional networks. We are able to catch up on what events we went to, like Realcomm, or some of the latest topics, like sustainability of the Olympics.
Boston has some great samples of sustainable buildings and among the universities and life sciences industries we also have a good representation of prop tech providers as well. Participating in Boston Smaht events can help make connections to peers and partners right in your backyard.
We would like to thank BXP for opening up the roof deck. Big thanks to Danny Klein for leading this event and the rest of the steering committee for your support. Cohesion was in town this week and brought some delicious sandwiches. And thank you to BCM Controls for a crowd favorite stack of pizzas.
If you weren't there, check out our event last year at CBT Architects for what is clearly BIG's largest ever charcuterie spread. Now what has to be a BIG first is getting our name written in cheese.
Can't wait to see you at a future event. Be sure to sign up for BIG and follow our chapter LinkedIn page.
